THE OLD WEST COMES ALIVE!!

Each year in August during the Trinity County Fair in Hayfork, California, the old West comes alive for everybody who has a song of the old ways in their heart.

During this short time, horses, mules, donkeys, cows, and dogs come together with saddles, wagons, chariots and carts. Then the riders, packers, drivers, and teamsters showcase their talents and skill to the watchers, the admirers, the wishful dreamers and to the kids of all ages.

Our mule show is not the Biggest show in the west. Not by a long shot. But it is the one with the most Diverse program, with the most room and in one of the most beautiful settings in the state.

Just like the old days, you can circle up your wagons and camp or RV along side your animals in the company of your friends and fellow competitors. You can even rent a stall if you wish. Everything is easy at this mule show set in a little bit of heaven, the Trinity Mountains.

And our mule show is not just for the competitors. It’s for the whole family. Along with the Mule Show, mule races, horse show, driving competition, pack scramble, and bull riding, turn the family loose at one of the last old time country fairs. There’s the carnival where some real riding gets done! Or watch the logging show, see the quilt show and auction, visit an old homestead and go wave and cheer during the Main Street parade. All these traditional fair activities showcase life in rural Northern California.
